Mindset reminders for periods of change
I'm re-discovering my creative process and these are the mindset reminders I needed to make it the most rewarding. 💖
A quick take on what I’m moving through this week as I work towards bringing Reconnect & Awaken podcast to life. 🎉
I want to share more of the behind-the-scenes process with you and using my voice to share it seems like the most fitting way:
I’m discovering a new process for creating.
Each week I work on a new podcast episode for the Reconnect & Awaken podcast launch, and I’m discovering that the process is really, really different than anything I’ve created before.
There’s more material to review and prep. I’m finding myself recording, and re-recording episodes. It takes me much longer to bring an episode together.
Through all of this, I’ve been reminding myself to stay curious about this new creative process and give it the space and the freedom it needs to be discovered.
“Stay Curious” was one of the many mindset reminders I wrote about when I was at the very beginning of my Soul Journey in 2019… I recently went back through my notes from that time to prepare for the podcast episode I’m working on and found so many little nuggets of wisdom that are great reminders for any time you’re working on something new or going through a period of change.
In honour of discovering my new creative process, here are a few of my favourite reminders about Mindset that I’ve been finding helpful this past week.

Mindset Reminders for periods of change
“Before we can make deep changes in our lives, we have to look into our diet, our way of consuming. We have to live in such a way that we stop consuming the things that poison us and intoxicate us. Then we will have the strength to allow the best in us to arise, and we will no longer be the victims of anger, of frustration.”
Thich Nhat Hanh, quoted from Stillness is the Key (Holiday, p. 34)
Your timing is perfect
You are here because your soul has nudged you, and you are now ready to pause and recognize it. Something is unsettled or shifting in your life. You’ve passed the point of ignoring whatever is going on. You want something to change and you can’t turn away anymore.
Your timing is perfect. For whatever reason, now is the right time for you to start (or keep going on) this journey. Trust that, and remind yourself often now is the time to be doing this work.
Give yourself time
Remember, you are learning to reconnect with your Soul so you can recognize how you are being called to live, thrive and create. That’s big. It may take some time.
This isn’t meant to be a speedy “4-week program” or something that’s a quick “check it off as done”. There is no definitive timeline. Trust that the guidance and next steps will show up for you, but know you might have important detours, lessons, and learnings on the way.
Give yourself a broad window of time to do this work expectation-free. Decide on a period of time to trust this process and try it out without rushing to see results ASAP.
You’re likely unraveling years (or even decades) of training yourself away from your inner calling. Give yourself a pressure-free window to rediscover yourself and get to know you, now. Then, check in at that period to see where you are and how you want to keep going.
Dedicate Time
We all have the same amount of time each day, which we fill in various ways including doing things we love, working, working out, doing chores, spending time with our friends and family, doing things we don’t love - whatever. Doing this Soul work will need time in your week or day-to-day. It may require you to put something else on the back burner for a little bit or to rework your schedule. It’s worth dedicating time and space to this.
Consider what you do in a day, in a week, and how you schedule your time. Decide on the time you’re going to block off for this soul work so you can make it a habit.
Can you move anything around that’s less of a priority?
Are there any habits or activities that you’re already ready to let go of, and this can take their place?
Is there something you could take a break from while you work on this?
How often do you want to do this soul work?
Be curious
Rather than just looking at this process as a way to find answers or achieve an outcome try to get curious about yourself. Be interested in getting to know yourself in this moment and be open to what’s coming up for you. In curiosity, we are able to let go of judgment and expectations and discover new things.
There may be ideas, memories, beliefs, or blocks that come up for you that you have avoided in the past, or that seem unimportant on the surface. Be curious enough to consider wherever you’re being pulled even if you don’t understand why right now.
You will definitely find the answers that you’re looking for, but there may be important self-discoveries you need to make on the way. Be open to them. Be curious about you.
Nothing will come up that you’re not ready for
Know that nothing will ever come up that you are not ready to explore. Some things may be surprising or might feel intense, but if it’s coming into your awareness it’s because you are ready to explore it, heal it, or move through it.
Our bodies and our consciousness are such intelligent tools, especially when it comes to our capacity to heal and grow. They always know just what we need. Trust whatever comes up for you. You are ready for it, and you need it.
You are your best guide
This is the most important message.
This is your personal journey. You know where you are right now and what you need most. Trust where you’re being called and dive into whatever you feel interested in exploring. If something doesn’t sit right with you, ditch it. Maybe you’ll come back later, but maybe you won’t. Do what’s right for you.
Adapt everything to suit you!
There are no rules. Do what you like. Change things, adapt them, make it work for you! ALWAYS. Have fun with it while you’re at it. <3
